H2SAS is back! We're co-hosting our next event with Hacking Health, an organization that pairs innovators with healthcare experts to build solutions to front-line healthcare problems using emerging technologies. Like our last event, this will be an ideation/brainstorming/problem-solving session focused on a topic relevant to Detroit.
And as you may have guessed - the challenge we'll focus on this time will involve healthcare. More specifically, we'll investigate the current state of primary care in the Motor City and how to improve access to healthcare providers.
This event will be one-hour longer than our last event, allowing us to delve deeper into how to leverage IDEO's Design Thinking methodology. This human-centered approach to problem-solving emphasizes building empathy and gaining a deeper understanding of the problem at hand.
6:00pm: Networking and Food
6:30pm: Members will break out into groups. The groups will be presented with a challenge and the objective/key takeaways of the discussion. We'll frame the conversation using IDEO's Design Thinking framework.
8:30-9pm: Wrap-Up and Q&A
Stay tuned for additional details :)

Detroit Women in Digital November Meetup - Members +1
This month we are diving into mobile!
This month's theme: Optimize for Mobile Eyes
With ad budgets shifting to mobile, marketers are looking for unique ways to break through to consumers. But what types of ads are best suited for the mobile screen?
Kargo partnered with MediaScience to evaluate the effectiveness of nine different mobile ad formats within the mobile web environment, including industry standard banner units, animated display ads, and short-form video units of various sizes. Join Jessica Phan as she uncovers which formats excel on mobile devices and how marketers can take advantage of understanding how consumers respond to a wide variety of ad unit formats.
The objective of the study was to identify which mobile ad formats produce the strongest brand impact via survey metrics such as awareness and likeability, along with an understanding of how consumers implicitly react to ads by measuring eye tracking and biometrics. The study was conducted with participants in MediaScience’s media labs across New York, Chicago, and Austin. A mixed experimental design was set up so that each participant was randomly exposed to five different brands and ad formats within the predetermined editorial content.

"I recently attended my first Women in Digital meet up and it was unlike any other 'networking' event. While every person in the room was there in a professional capacity, there was an undercurrent of shared values, shared struggles and shared desire for change.
It was a powerful experience to see women band together to raise each other up in a way that only women can. I can't recommend joining Women in Digital enough. This is a professional community that feels like the home we never knew we needed but have always been seeking." - Alaura Weaver, Copywriter + Content Strategist
