Data Driven Detroit (D3) was created in 2008 to serve the community as a one-stop-shop for all things data about Detroit and the region. Erica Raleigh, D3's Executive Director, will share resources on where to find and access data, ways you can use data to support your goals, and some concrete examples examples of good data use from the Detroit community.
D3 exists to democratize data and level the playing field, providing the same high-quality information available to major corporations to nonprofits, governments, foundations, and even entrepreneurs. With data, we can have more informed conversations about the current state of our community, how to best deliver and direct resources, and how we can create the deepest impact.
Erica Raleigh, our speaker for the evening, joined Data Driven Detroit as a founding member in early 2009 as a Research Analyst and is now the owner and Executive Director. She has a background in housing and community development, transportation planning, and public safety research. After taking on leadership of D3 in 2013, she successfully managed the organization’s transition to an L3C.
Erica is deeply committed to the equitable access of information for data-driven decision-making. She
holds a Master of Urban Planning from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic
Studies from the University of Michigan.
